Attached Doctors

We are now accepting clinical placements at both our Peninsula and Severn bases, for trainees in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care medicine. We will welcome our first Attached Doctors (AD) on Monday 12th June, but you can start requesting your placement dates now using the booking form below.

Stage 1 trainees can book two or three shifts; two of which should be in the same week. We will not offer more than three shifts to any stage 1 trainee.

Stage 2 trainees will be able to book one or two shifts, taken over any suitable time period. We will not offer more than two shifts to any stage 2 trainee other than in rare circumstances.

If you are interested in a transfer fellowship or stage 3 training, please email retrieve.transfer@nhs.net for more information.

Please note:

We are only able to offer placements to trainees employed by a Trust with a Memorandum of Understanding with the Retrieve host Trust, University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). Any doctor applying from a Trust that is not listed below will be declined an attachment; you may instead be able to apply for a ‘no patient contact’ Observership.
